European Foreign Trade Forum (EFA)

The EFA (Europaisches Forum für Aussenwirtschaft, European Forum for Foreign Trade) is a German association that focuses on European customs law, the Community Customs Code and the harmonisation of taxes and controls in the European Union. Every year, it organises a colloquium on topical issues such as enlargement, e-commerce and new computerised customs procedures. As these objectives are very similar to those of Collin de Sussy, a partnership has been developed whereby members of each association attend each other’s conferences and meetings.

International Academy of Customs Law

The International Academy of Customs Law is a non-governmental body constituted as an International Association. It officially brings together legal experts in customs law from the countries of Central and Latin America. It quickly expanded to include European countries such as Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain and France. Negotiations are underway with Asian countries and China. Collin de Sussy has been a member of the Academy since June 2008. One of the Academy’s aims is to promote customs knowledge and interest by organising annual world meetings, building up a corpus of comparative law and creating a centre for comparative legislation and advanced studies.
