Our missions

With some 70 members from all sectors of activity, Councils and Companies, the Think tank contributes, through its work, as well as through the scope of its events, notably its biannual international conference (which brought together more than 300 experts), to the dissemination of innovative ideas useful to companies and their Councils.

The Think tank is organising a biennial conference bringing together all those involved in customs matters for a one-day conference.

Every two years, the Think tank organises a conference under the honorary presidency of the Director General of Customs. Each conference brings together representatives of the European and international bodies that are at the forefront of customs issues (European Commission, World Customs Organisation, World Trade Organisation, etc.). The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for discussing current developments in customs matters, as well as customs principles and their effective implementation.

In addition to the conference, the Think tank organises its discussions in working groups by theme.

The Think tank is organised through working groups, currently comprising the Export Control Group, the Legal and the Energy and Environmental Tax working group. These groups meet regularly face-to-face or remotely. Their work takes the form of publications, guides, notes and articles, and the organisation of events with government representatives and prominent figures.
